What is the best software to get for getting started in creative Advertising prints and Graphic Design?

I’m in Advertising and Public Relations and haven’t taken any of those kinds of classes. I want a heads up – I want to teach myself. How about Adobe Creative Suite 3? Any suggestions?

If you haven’t taken any classes yet, you might as well start with Adobe Photoshop, since it is the most popular. You will also find most tutorials on the topic, e.g. www.good-tutorials.com

Later, you can experiment with the other packages if you have time.

  3. Creative Suite 3 is a great starting place. Adobe programs are quite well made and are widely used in the industry, which will help you get a job.

If you are feeling adventurous and want to try something different, you can find very good 3D software for free. I recommend Blender or POV-Ray. 3D does take practice, but keep experimenting and you will improve.
