I’m in advertising now, and I just wish it still was like in the 60’s. Of course i’m a man, so for women, i’m glad things have changed.

    I have been …
I have been interested in period shows like Mad Men ( Couldn’t watch the first season because I was come homw around the time I had to go to bed so I can get up and go to work the next morning) It’s interesting the see how the dynamics of the office has changed since the 60’s as well as the home life.

  10. Oh, I hear you – I …
Oh, I hear you – I definitely work hard to keep my channel free of that, so people can debate the show itself. It’s hard to truly judge MM by clips, however – it does reveal the darkness of humanity, but the characters undergo very interesting evolutions throughout the entirety of the first series. Nothing about it is as unidimensional or transparent as it may seem by the pretty sets and costumes. :)

  11. I meant the …
I meant the comments I’ve read generally on the various videos (and not just MM videos) posted on youtube. There are too many cowardly comments to single out. It’s always especially amusing when weirdos write things like “i’d tap that” and “i’d totally do her”, as if that were a compliment. Youtube as IMDB have given another outlet to the tiresome. (thanks for the ventilation space, however!)

  12. Can you tell me …
Can you tell me which comments? I don’t mind people discussing the subject matter of the show, but I’ve done my best to screen out comments that are rude or objectify the actresses (and you’re right, there are LOTS!)

  13. I’ve seen only one …
I’ve seen only one episode of the show and some clips online, and I think I’ve had my fill of it. The social structure is too depressing to watch. (And the sexist comments on MM youtube videos out there are just as depressing to read.)

  14. My mom was a …
My mom was a secretary for Madison Ave ad-men in the early 60’s, and she can’t stand watching the show – too realistic for “such a miserable time”!

  15. my mom was a legal …
my mom was a legal secretary in the 60’s, and ohhh, the stories she had would rival anything on MM. This is a superb, accurate glimpse of office life, as I remember my mom. She has been dead a long time now, but I sure wish she could see this. The set alone is amazingly detailed.

the lady who is the one in the middle of the room they go into looks very fimlier. in britian she was on never mind the buzzcoks but who is that lovley lady???
