What are the best companies to use for internet advertising?
The question above is for www.jewelryatagreatprice.com.
You could do some free advertising. Some of the ways you can advertise your website are:
1. Post an article about your website on related blogs and get free back links
2. Submitting to directories
3. Free classifieds
4. Forums
Send an email to e@culx.net for a list of websites for free advertising
Who sells print advertising, what does it involve, when do you do it, where do you go, how do you do it?
Come this Monday I will officially be a ad sales consultant for a paper offering free personal classifieds. I am the only sales person for my area and it is my job to get local businesses to advertise. I have to get people to sign on and pay for an ad before the official launch date, sometime next month. I was wondering if anyone had any advice for me on how to do this.
P.S. It was reccomended to me by my boss that I visit local businesses personaly. I am not really sure how to do this. I don’t know what the best times would be and even if the person I am talking to can pay for the ad.
I went into a few businesses yesterday just to get used to things and get my feet wet. Some people were receptive and took my flyer, some werent. I don’t have any sales yet.
I figure that these businesses will want to advertise if they just had the time to sit down and see what I was offering, so I really need to have the decision maker of the business sit down and make an appointment with me besides the other way around, I don’t want to disturbe anyone unannounce, which is why I think my bosses idea is bad. Any ideas for me? Have you ever sold print advertising?
The first person is spot on: you have to view your product from your customer’s point of view. What’s in it for them? Why should they advertise with you?
This requires knowing who their customers are, who their competition is, and a LOT about who buys, reads and uses your publication. Your customers will want to know how many copies of your publication are distributed and basic demographic information about your readers: where they live, how much money they earn, how well educated they are.
While print advertising will never entirely disappear, print as a whole is slowly going away and is being replaced by electronic media, interactive media, etc. Not to discourage you, but you are facing an uphill climb (which may be why you are the only salesperson in your territory).
As someone who once sold ad space for a local newspaper, I have to disagree with your boss. Cold calling was not the most effective means of selling for me. I did much better when I was able to make an appointment, took time to learn about the business I was calling upon before hand, and prepared sales presentations for interested parties.
If you walk into my business to sell me something, you better have done your homework, because I will not be in the mood to educate you at the expense of my own time.
Good luck!
In what ways do Television advertising appeal to viewers??
like they appeal to their emotions, their sense of humour, thier sexual fantasies etc what others??
appeal?
they annoy me!
How does online advertising work? Can someone point me to an article describing the process?
What I want to know is how advertising content is placed onto a server and how that content is delivered from the server to me, the person viewing it. Someone must have written about this somewhere!
there are so many ways to advertise online. The most popular is through google your yahoo. Google is called adwords (do a google search and you will get tons of info on it) and yahoo is I think just yahoo advertising. You create an ad, and link to a website and pay per click. They have special code you can install to find where the click came from, what pages they visited and if they bought from clicking that ad. There are tons of articles on it out there, just go to google adwords and check out what they have there and they have all the info you will never need and pretty much the same applies for most others. You also have cost per impressions (which is how many times the ad is viewed, not clicked, cost per acquisition, which is only pay on an ad when it actually has the buyer go through a set pre determined process such as buying or filling out a form)
Is my profession, outdoor advertising,(billboards) worth staying in after 12 years in it.?
Outdoor advertising is booming business.
The real question is what is the oportunity cost of leaving it based on your skill set. Are you walking away from a big severence package. Are you loosing medical coverage etc etc.
What are your prospects for replacing the income and the job satisfaction?
What is a good name for an Advertising Agency?
I want to start an small Advertising Agency, but I don’t want to spend $500+ to get one made professionally. Partly, because I don’t know how they could name a business better than someone who created it. But what are some good names for an innovative, creative, and effective ad agency?
Since any names that are suggested here may already be owned by another party, I wanted to go a different route…
I suggest either hiring a name creation firm (which are in the business of naming, so they’re going to understand what makes a name strong) or get together with your friends and/or family and throw a "name party" & have everyone bounce some ideas around. Compile a listing of names that you like the best. Once you have that list, do as much free research as you can before you delve into comprehensive research. I listed some links where you can do some preliminary name checking. However, please be aware that this is merely scratching the surface of what’s out there. Only comprehensive research will tell you if the name is truly available. But, these links are free & a great place to start, so I’d try them out first.
Hope that helps! I wish you much success & happiness in all your ventures!
