Food Network Subliminal Advertising?
I was watching the end of today’s (1/21/07) Iron Chef and noticed the screen quickly blink red. A few seconds later I start thinking, “Was that the McDonalds logo…?” Thanks to the magic of my Dish Network DVR, I rewind, and put it in to slow motion.
Sure enough, Food Network is allowing McDonalds to run subliminal advertisements in the middle of their programming!
Amazing!

Kosovo The Young Europeans (Israeli company S&S will “nation brand” Kosovo)
Kosovo 2009
Israeli company Saatchi & Saatchi to spice up Kosovo’s image.
Israeli company Saatchi & Saatchi will nation brand Kosovo
The slogan and logo
The new slogan, which appears as part of the logo, is:
Kosovo. The young Europeans.
The slogan is based on the facts that The Republic of Kosovo is one youngest countries in the world, and it’s also home to the youngest population in Europe with an average age of 25.9.
This is probably the very first national slogan which turns the spotlight on the people and the human spirit rather than the country, its natural marvels or history.
This is a very strong and confident statement of Kosovos attitude as a country and of its future intentions. It will attract the interest of a range of audiences, from politicians to businessmen, from tourists to donors. All will sense the future potential of this young nation and the positive attitude of its people.
The visual appearance of the logo is very much in keeping with the new generation of national logos in that it has a modern flowing style and an impactful use of colour. Each of the colours featured in the logo was chosen for a specific reason. The green represents the green fields that can be found across Kosovos expansive countryside, the red-terracotta represents the colour of the bricks that are used for the building that is in progress across the land, and the blue symbolizes the sky and water and is taken from the background from Kosovos new flag. The unique design of the letters’ font typography is inspired by “the fountain of youth” concept the energy that flow unboundedly throughout Kosovo.
Kosovo officials say the Saatchi & Saatchi advertising company has won a contract worth euro5.7 million ($7.3 million) to improve the country’s international image.
Ministry of Finance spokesman Muharrem Shahini says the company’s Israel-based unit will run an international branding and media campaign for the new Balkan nation.
The Saatchi & Saatchi advertising company is owned by the Paris-based communications company Publicis Groupe.

What are some internet advertising possibilities for a growing small businesses?
I’ve been in business for about 5 years and am expanding into other cities and markets. I need some ideas or companies that can help me beyond doing craigslist ads. I think we are ready for the next level.

On most of these you can pick the age range, income level, and sex of the person you want to see your ad. Good luck!
What is the ROI on print advertising? What is the ratio of amount spent to the rate of growth expected?
unfortunately, the roi on print advertising is very difficult to calculate because there are so many different types of print advertising and varying goals.
for example, for a print ad campaign – i.e. postcards – the industry standard on the roi is approximately 1-2%….and if there is a definite timeline involved – short term that requires a response rather thana long term general mailout that does not require a response.
you also must consider consistency in print advertising….in other words, the more ads you run, the higher the return…and more dollars returned on your investment….especially if you are targeting a specific market. your roi can be higher if you are in a specialized market with a somewhat defined group of "vendors" that your client/customer is exposed to. so therefore, your ratio will be higher.
unfortunately, there really isn’t a formula or an exact amount but it is with anything else in business….if you don’t invest, you won’t reap.
What can I do to help prevent advertising television from having their ads turned up so loud?
We even mute them but the sound automatically comes on again showing that the company is going to insist that they are heard (at that high level) whether we want it or not. We are a pensioner couple who sleep at different times and the level of noise from ads causes us a lot of discomfort. Sudden bursts of loud jingles are very startling. This is noise polution!
Thanks so much for that – will have to get some of the grandchildren to find it for us!
A lot of modern tv’s have a setting called stable sound which helps to level the volume for that reason. Look in the audio settings in your tv’s menu.
Best answer?
How important is advertising on a small busiess?
Small business finds it pointless to spend money on proper advertising. Even if they spend more but they will get it back in revenue.
